Male Hair Styles

Hairstyles for Balding Men

If you are a man that has begun to lose his hair or already there then you know just how hard it can be to find the right kind of information on how to style the hair you do have and still look and feel good about yourself. For too many years men have either had to simply do a comb over or just shave their heads. But what if there was some good information about male hair styles for those that are going bald? Well here are a few do´s and don’ts for you that have been gathered to help you get back the confidences that you deserve.

First and foremost, it is important to understand that you are not alone. Did you know that 95% of all balding men start out with a receding hairline and then quickly followed by that thin patch at the top of the head? And as time goes by you will notice that the bald spot will grow and grow until it has made a neat little hole right on top and at the back of your head. What’s more, this is where the comb over usually starts so that the bald spot is somewhat covered. However, if you are like many others out there then as long as you still have hair on your head you want to be able to enjoy a great hairstyle that is masculine.

Don’t

Do not comb your hair straight back. It is one of the first things that is tried, and although it does cover up the bald spot a bit it only works to uncover your forehead and that troublesome receding hairline. Why draw attention to one thing only to take the attention from another?

Do not attempt to make up for lost hair by growing it very long in the back. Not only will you find that the hair that grows long most often is very thin and just ends up looking stringy, but it also does more to draw attention to your balding than taking away from it. Furthermore, you also often find that when you grow your hair long it ends up separating often and showing more of the scalp than intended. So be sure that your hair style does not include the hippy look.

Do not use gel. You will find that the younger gents out there that start balding at an early age will try to use gel to come up with newer male hair styles in hopes of taking away from their obvious balding. However, what they do not realize is that gel has a tendency to simply clump up your hair which then shows the scalp and the balding even more.

Do

Do try and go more natural in your look. A great way to do this would be to find a good mousse or conditioner that will add a bit of fluff and fullness to your hair.

Do get the right kind of haircuts. If you have longer hair or are able to grow it just a bit then make sure you ask your stylist to layer what remains and then have it brushed forward in order to break up that receding hairline look.

Do try and stay away from hats if at all possible. Although this is a common favourite amongst balding men in hopes of covering their baldness it is also something that furthers along the balding.

If all else fails and your balding has gotten ahead of you then by all means be bold and shave it all off. You may just like it.
